Cookies and storage

Gift2Keep keeps as little as it can in your browser, and only what the app needs to work. No tracking, no analytics and no advertising cookies.

Our cookies

Sent to Gift2Keep with every page, so the app knows who you are and how you want it to look.

sb-…-auth-token: Keeps you signed in. Only set when you sign in.; Kept: Until you sign out, at most 400 days
sb-…-code-verifier: Checks that the sign-in link you open belongs to the sign-in you started on this device.; Kept: Until you have signed in
locale: Remembers the language you picked.; Kept: 1 year

These are not cookies. They stay on your device and are never sent to us on their own.

wishlist:claims: A secret code for each gift you claim as a guest, so only you can undo the claim.; Kept: Until you clear your browser data
wishlist:guest-name: The name you gave when you claimed a gift, so you don't have to type it again.; Kept: Until you clear your browser data

When you click an Ad-link

Some wish links go to the shop through an affiliate programme. They are marked (Ad-link). If a guest buys through one, the shop may pay us a small commission. The price stays the same.

When you click an Ad-link, you leave Gift2Keep. On the way, the affiliate network (for example Adtraction or Awin) and the shop may set their own cookies, so the purchase can be credited to us. Those cookies are theirs, not ours: they decide how long they last and whether to ask for your consent, and their cookie policies apply.

The network tells us that a sale was made and what the commission is. It does not give us your name or contact details. Links without (Ad-link) go straight to the shop.

Other sites

Shop pictures are fetched by our server, not by your browser, so shops can't see your visit or set cookies through them.

Map links open Google Maps, and Open Google Lens opens Google's app or website. Those are outside Gift2Keep, and Google's own policies apply there.

Swedish law (the Electronic Communications Act) only requires consent for cookies and storage that a service doesn't need. Everything above is needed for the app to do what you ask, or remembers a choice you made. If we ever add something that isn't, such as analytics, we will ask first.

Removing them

Signing out deletes the sign-in cookie. You can delete everything else in your browser's settings, under cookies and site data for this site.

If you block cookies, you can't sign in. Shared lists still open, but if you also block site data, you can't undo a claim later.
